Hey guys! Today I have a pretty quick post for you all! I feel like I've expressed my intense love for splatter manis before but if not, I really do love them. They take pretty much no skill to do (just have to get the hang of the technique) but they look so interesting. Plus depending on your color scheme they can be super edgy (my choice) or super girly, or maybe a little in between. So maybe I'm no Jackson Pollock but you can say the splatter mani for sure pulls inspiration from his awesome abstract paintings.
I started with a base of Maybelline Color Show - Paint the Town which is one of my favorite reds; it's so dark and mysterious, I love it! I couldn't get any good pictures of the splatter portion of the mani though.. :( Believe me, it was much cooler in real life!
I wanted the keep the color scheme pretty regal and dark so I added
about 3 different golds (I believe they were Ulta - 14 Carat,
DarlingDivaPolish - Stripper Pole, and 1 other I can't remember!) in slightly varying hues and
finishes. I think all of the golds together added a lot of depth and
dimension to this. I also added a plain black and white creme to sort of
break it up and add some contrast.
Then I decided to add a matte topcoat to it. I had such high expectations for how awesome this would look with a matte topcoat but I was disappointed by it. I think I like it better glossy.
What do you think of this? Are you a fan of splatter manis?
