Essie - Shine of the Times + Some Brief News

Hi ladies and possibly lads? Today I have a simple mani, just a plain white polish with a crazy amazing flakie topcoat on top! White can be boring but also kind of nice (like a palate cleanser) but add a flakie topcoat like Shine of the Times and it gives your nails so much more visual appeal. I love this combo, like I said it's simple and subtle (flakies usually stand out more against darker colors like when I used it here over Essie - Merino Cool) but still interesting and gorgeous. I hope you like this as much as I do, cause I LOVE IT! :) Oh, I just remembered the always wonderful Theodora from Red Hair and Black Nail Polish is going to be posting a guest post I made for her and her readers on Friday! It has something to do with this post but I don't want to ruin the surprise so you'll just have to check it out on Friday!

On a little detour real quick, Theodora did a gorg guest post for Cuti-CLUE-les here which you must check out. And, while you're there, you of course have to check out Cuti-CLUE-les's posts too because they're just awesome. They're both incredibly sweet too so there's really no bad thing about going to visit them ;) I forgot to mention that you have to go visit Theodora's blog too! Yes, you have to! :) haha Oh my goodness, I just remembered one more thing! Theodora and another blogger created a kick...butt (yes, butt) summer challenge that you must join! Here's the details! I'm totally psyched about it and can't wait until it starts! Also, it's not until July so you don't have to worry about not having time. If you want you could always do a few of the challenges now so that in case something comes up in July you'll still have a few posts ready. I'm debating if I'm going to do that or not. Also, it's an every other day challenge so you don't have to worry about posting manis every single day; that can be tiring!

Okay, back to business!

This post is pretty picture heavy, fair warning ;)
Click "read more" if you want to see some yummy flakies!

Only last picture is with topcoat

Mmmmmm I just love this polish so much, it's so pariteeeeeeeeee!

Colors Used: Wet n' Wild - French Cream 3 coats, Essie - Shine of the Times 2 coats, (only last picture) NYC - quick dry TC.

Sidenote, I added some new buttons, if you haven't noticed, to my "Find Me On" little thingy (what's it called? Column? It's late haha). Starting from top left to the bottom right I'll list the buttons: Email icon (click on it and it'll bring you to a form you can fill out that goes directly to my email and I will answer it!), Pinterest icon (brings you to my pinterest account, if you want to pin one of my pictures there's a "pin it" button at the end of every post!), Twitter icon (my twitter account, also a good way to get in touch with me since I'm mildly obsessed with it and on my account everyday), Google plus icon (hopefully this should bring you to a page that allows you to follow my blog through google friend connect. For some reason they removed the follow button from the navigation bar and I think it can be a bit difficult to find out how to follow a blog because you don't always know where they list their members. Tell me if the button works!), Youtube icon (my youtube account which doesn't have many videos but I hope to add many more in the future, maybe some song covers? I may not be brave enough for that but it would certainly be fun! Let me know what you guys think :)), Instagram icon (my instagram account, I love instagram!) Gifboom icon (similar to instagram but creates gifs instead, so fun!), and finally a Bloglovin' icon (Should bring you to a page that'll allow you to follow me through bloglovin'). Have a lovely week and don't forget if you have any questions or suggestions I always love to hear them! *EDIT - It's so late and I don't have time to figure out why tonight, but my "Find Me On" buttons aren't working. I have to go through a process of editing each html link and adding the html image and a bunch of steps (which I've done before successfully, in fact quite a few times) for each little button and now only a few are working. Ugh it's really quite frustrating so if anyone knows how to help I'd be more than happy to hear your advice! Sorry that they aren't working right now though :( EDIT*

MY BUTTONS ARE NOW WORKING! YAYYYYYYYYYY :) If you hold your little clicky thing over the button a little white box with appear that says what the button is as well, well it should!

- xoxo Alexis Leigh
